ENHANCING THE SOFT GROUND
Soft ground improvement is a major part of most of the soil prior to any super structure construction of ground. To obtain any required consolidation of the soft soil one may adapt surcharge filling by loading the surface at ground level with fill material. Simultaneously with the application of the extra load for surcharging the ground surface has to be prepared for the removal of oozing water due to consolidation. Rate of Consolidation is dependent on the permeability and compressibility of the soil and the field performance of transporting the water from the soft subsoil regions.
VERTICAL FIBRE DRAIN (V.F.D.)
How do we facilitate the removal of water from the soft subsoil region? It is for this purpose that we have designed of vertical fibre drain (V.F.D) that would satisfy the user. The manufactured vertical fibre drain is 100% natural, biodegradable and environmentally friendly. The length of the vertical fibre drain can exceed 200 meter length. The energy needed to manufacture the V.F.D. is very negligible. The little quantity of waste material in the production of the V.F.D. is negligible and is 100% organic and biodegradable. V.F.D. has uninterrupted continuous water drain. It cost less and it is easy to install. The machines needed to install are fairly simple and lightweight. The working site can be kept tidy and clean due to easy and lightweight installation equipment. In the installation of the V.F.D. the sub soil variance or disturbance is kept at minimum.
The V.F.D. can withstand the stresses accompanied in the deep installation as well as the densification of granular soil layers at the surface by heavy tamping due to its own tensile strength. Therefore it is considered the best out of all the vertical drains currently available in the market. Besides all the vertical drain are made out of synthetic material and thus not nature friendly.
The material characteristic of the V.F.D.
Material: 1. Core: consists of several axial Coir strands twisted to facilitate easy one
way discharge of subsoil water.
- Filter: could be made up for fine woven jute cloth for the interception and
arresting of the clay slurry deposits.

Length upto 200,000 mm (200mtrs)
